When you start the program for the first time you will need to setup a new use and download the current chimp list for you facility. It is required that you currently have an internet connection for the following steps.
On the first screen (Local User Login) the pull down will say "New User", press the "Local Login In" button. This will bring up the "Activate new user" screen.
Press the "Reload Facility List" button. This will download a list of all the facility in the ChimpanZoo database, it might take a second to load. Find you facility in the list and select it, this will fill in the "Facility" box on the right. Below the "Facility" box fill in your username and password, then press the "Activate" button. If your information is valid, you will see the chimp list screen.
You will need to press the "Download Current Chimp List" button. Once you have downloaded your chimp list you are now ready to start taking observations. Clicking on the "Observer" button at the very top will bring up the observation screen.
Once you have activated your username and downloaded your chimp list you can then work offline (no internet connection needed). When you start the program again you can just select your username from the pull down menu to login and start taking observations.
To upload your observation files to ChimpanZoo you must be connected to the internet. Login and press the "Obs Files" at the very top. Enter your password then press the "Upload Observation Files" to upload your files.
